Postpartum doula support in Toronto dad baby

Postpartum Doula Support

The days, weeks, and months following the birth of a new baby are vital. Recovery is taking place. Bonds are being formed. And a new life and routine are taking shape.

Expert support during this critical time can help ensure a positive experience and successful transition to parenthood – not to mention more rested and relaxed new parents (which is a good thing for everyone involved).

Through skilled and nurturing guidance, I can help you find your unique way into parenting. You also get the extra benefit of a shared care model, meaning that you get the expert support of myself and a member of my team.

My standard postpartum support packages are below, and I am also happy to customize to suit your needs if you’re looking for something slightly different. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your unique needs – or to set up a time to chat about the options.

"The postpartum period needs to be treated as a special time, a time when [the birthing person] deserve extra care. Your mind and body are engaging in important work right now, whether or not you are consciously aware of it." -Peggy O'Mara

"Kate was extremely supportive and helpful, in so many ways. My labour was a traumatic experience, encroached with postpartum depression. She was very helpful in processing my story and provided emotional support and external resources for my PPD. As a new parent, I was concerned with bathing, burping techniques, kangaroo care, breastfeeding and help with infant sleep. Kate was knowledgeable in all aspects and offered above and beyond her expertise via being on call with text, email and phone accessibility. She took great initiative in making care sure I was well-fed and maximized the time I had with her, so I could do simple tasks that I so easily forget, i.e. make breakfast and bottle feed or rock our baby to sleep, so I could shower or sleep myself. Kate also took care to help my husband, teaching him how to bathe our baby and carry her in a wrap. Thanks Kate!"
